Mechanical Engineering job in Railways with Intermediate MPC

Through special class railway apprentice (SCRA), intermediate MPC students can have good career opportunities. Engineering course can be completed without the expenses of even a penny. Monthly stipend can also be availed. As a part of course, one can have the chance of spending one year at London. As soon as the course completes, one can join as mechanical engineer in railways. SCRA is a golden opportunity for those who have completed intermediate with MPC group or who is studying intermediate with same group. 

Special class railway apprentice is one among the top most exams conducted by UPSC. SCRA can be said as golden opportunity for the students studying intermediate with MPC group or who have completed the same course. Earlier, this test was conducted once yearly, but now it is conducted twice a year. Selected candidates will be admitted into mechanical engineering course and can also get a monthly stipend of Rs. 9, 100. Candidates are selected based on written test and personality test. It is easy to get success in SCRA when planned from the first year of intermediate. It is because questions for 400 marks in this test will be from intermediate syllabus of math, physics and chemistry. 

Eligibility: Candidates should have age between 17 years and 21 years, as on 1st August of exam conducting year. Relaxation of age limit of five year and three years is present for SC, ST candidates and OBC candidates respectively. Candidates should have passed intermediate with at least 50% with math, physics and chemistry as subjects. 

Seats: Availability of seats will depend on vacancies. Approximately 50 seats 
Written Test: All the questions in this test are from intermediate standard only. All of them will be in multiple choice format type and in English medium only. There is negative marking for wrong answers. There are three divisions in written test. Each division is for 200 marks. 
Paper- 1: General Ability test (English, General Knowledge and Psychological test). Duration of the test is 2 hours and maximum marks are 2000. 
Paper- 2: Questions from Physical sciences (Physics and chemistry) will be asked in this paper. Duration of the test is 2 hours and is for 200 marks. 
Paper-3: Mathematics 
Duration of the test is 2 hours and is for 200 marks. 
Personality test is for 200 marks and is conducted only for those who get selected in written test.
