Applications are invited from meritorious Sportspersons in the following disciplines for appointment as Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant and Postman in the Department of Posts against the vacancies for the years 2004 to 2010 under sports quota in Kerala Postal Circle, including 7 vacancies set aside for special consideration as per the Hon. High Court of Kerala orders in this regard
1. Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant: 32posts
Qualification: (i) 10+2 Standard or 12th class pass with at least 60% marks, from recognized University/Board of School Education/ Board of Secondary Education with English as a compulsory subject (excluding vocational streams), 55% for Other Backward Classes and 45% for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes. (ii) Should have studied local language of the State of Kerala ie. Malayalam or Hindi as a subject at least in Matriculation or equivalent
2. Postman: 20posts
Qualification: A Pass in Matriculation from a recognized Board/University
Disciplines:1. Athletics: 08posts (4 Men & 4 Women)
2. Cycling (Men): 02posts
3. Shuttle badminton: 05posts (3 Men & 2 Women)
4. Football (Men): 09posts
5. Kabaddi (Men): 08posts
6. Weight lifting, Power lifting and Best physique (Men): 02posts
7. Volley ball (Men): 09posts
8. Cricket (Man): 04posts
9. Hockey (Men): 05posts
