Directorate of Medical Education, Hyderabad invites Online applications from the eligible male & female candidates belonging to A.P. State only are invited for admission into 1st year of Three years General Nursing and Midwifery course and Six months Internship in the Nine Government Schools of Nursing in the following Government Teaching and General Hospitals in the State for the Academic Year 2012 – 2013.

General Hospital, Kakinada: 36 • King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam: 60 • Govt. General Hospital, Guntur: 60 • Govt. General Hospital, Kurnool: 60 • Govt. General Hospital, Vijayawada: 30 • Govt. Area Hospital, Bodhan: 25 Eligibility: Candidates should have passed XII class OR Intermediate or its equivalent examination preferable with Science subjects. The aggregate marks of minimum 45% in Intermediate or its equivalent examination are fixed by the Indian Nursing Council for admissions into Nursing Schools (for admissions into General Nursing and Midwifery Course). The same is relaxed in favor of SC / ST and BC candidates and they shall be eligible if they passed, Intermediate or its equivalent examination. Age Limit: The minimum age shall be 16 years completed and enter 17th year as on the 1st July of the year and shall not have completed 35 years of age. The upper age limit for the candidates belonging to SC, ST and BC’s is relaxable by 3 years.
